Linux driver for WM8776 released

A driver for the WM8776,a high performance, stereo audio CODEC with five channel input selector, has just been released. Like all Wolfson audio drivers for Linux this can be obtained from our ASoC page. For more details on the WM8776 please see the main WM8776 product page.

Linux drivers for WM8310, WM8311 and WM8312 released

Initial Linux drivers for the WM8310, WM8311 and WM8312, a series of integrated power management subsystem devices for low power portable applications, have just been released. Like all our power management drivers these can be obtained from our AudioPlus repository. For more details on these products please see the main product pages for the WM8310, WM8311 and WM8312.

A driver for the WM8993, a highly integrated ultra-low power hi-fi CODEC designed for portable devices such as multimedia phones, has just been released. Linux driver for WM8523 released

A driver for the WM8523, a high performance stereo DAC with integral charge pump providing 2Vrms line driver outputs using a single 3.3V power rail, has just been released. A driver for the WM8961, a low power, high quality stereo CODEC designed for portable digital applications with headphone and stereo class D speaker drivers, has just been released. Wolfson updates in 2.6.30

Version 2.6.30 of the Linux kernel was released today. As well as ongoing contributions to the ASoC and regulator frameworks (including the addition of standard ASoC jack detection support) this release also includes the audio driver for the WM8400 and bug fixes and performance improvements to previously merged drivers.

Linux driver for WM9081 released

A driver for the WM9081, a mono DAC with integrated 2.6W class AB/D amplifier, has just been released. Like all Wolfson audio drivers for Linux this can be obtained from our ASoC page. For more details on the WM9081 please see the main WM9081 product page.

DVFS support for Samsung S3C6410 under Linux

Wolfson has released initial support for dynamic CPU voltage and frequency scaling with Samsung S3Cxxxx CPUs using the standard voltage regulator API in Linux. Currently only the S3C6410 is supported, additional CPUs can be supported with the addition of data tables listing supported frequencies and their voltage requirements for those CPUs.

This code is available from our AudioPlus site in the s3c-cpufreq branch and can also be downloaded as a patch file.

WM8988 driver released

A driver for the WM8988, a low power, high quality stereo CODEC designed for portable digital audio applications, has just been released. Like all Wolfson CODEC drivers for Linux this can be obtained from our ASoC page. For more details on the WM8988 please see the main WM8988 product page.

Wolfson updates in 2.6.29

Linux 2.6.29 was released this week. Highlights of this release for Wolfson device support include:

  • Integration of the WM8728 driver.
  • Integration of support for the WM8351 and the WM8352, together with WM835x audio and LED driver support.
  • Support for the SSP port on the Marvell PXA processors.

With many smaller bug fixes and enhancements to both Wolfson drivers and the ASoC framework.
